Sonder is a personal project of mine where I explored and imagined as if I were branding for a new establishment making it’s way into Portland’s art culture. While it be a full fledged art gallery, this space would also have a bar in the vicinity that would allow its guest to roam around the space – a combo that is not often seen due to obvious reasons. Although, Sonder places its trust in the community and opens its doors with welcomed arms. Sonder pushes full force in the direction of minimalism and favors negative space.
sonder
n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness.
Sonder is an advocate of connection.
Indulge yourself in obscurity and simplicity as your curiosities become culminated.
“The world and every entity that exist within it are unique and complex.
At Sonder, a space is created for those wishing to share their creative interests in a welcoming environment.
We strongly belive that less is more.”
Sonder’s logomark derives from the combination of paint splatters and a wine stain left from the bottom of a glass. These two juxtaposing elements of art generate a bold statement to become the staple of the gallery.
